Q&A with Australian veteran premier guitarist, Michael Charles - worked the whole Chicago blues circuit

Probably the same way it has for all musicians. I cannot begin to describe the huge impact that the “golden era” had on everyone and everyone’s music. And still does to this very day. From Elvis to The Stones to Fogerty to …you name the artist and theirs and my fundamentals lie in the roots of blues. The blues simply teach us to write, play and sing from our heart and soul.”…

"The blues is more than music, it’s a document of survival, resistance, and resilience. It tells the story of people who were never supposed to make it, yet did, with soul intact. It carries history in every bend of the note. I want the music to remind people of their strength, their humanity, and their right to feel deeply."

We aim to honour the blues masters whose shoulders we stand on, and to help preserve their legacy. At the same time, as we are part of the evolution and expansion of the art form in contemporary blues and blues rock, in our small way we are broadening and diversifying the audiences who come to appreciate blues-based music. Even if they don’t know it yet, everyone needs blues music in their lives eventually, for reflection,…

Q&A with German-based soulful singer B’ee - a cool mix of rock, blues, soul, adult contemporary, and Southern Rock

“The Blues is the origin and beginning of everything. We should cherish and preserve it like a treasure. I is honest and sincere! and what would the world be without music? No wedding, no birthday, no funeral would be possible without music... no film... in the supermarket, in the nursery and at school, while driving or doing housework, music is omnipresent and yet often taken for granted! We should appreciate music itself and all the wonderful…

Q&A with South Mississippi-based musician Davey Jones, brings a unique quality and sound to his music

Posted on November 15, 2025 at 5:30pm 0 Comments

The Blues however, have never been about mass appeal. To me, Blues represent the things that music is supposed to be. Not chasing fame or flash, but speaking truth with emotion. Sure, there are exceptions to this, but keeping the Blues alive ensures that honesty and purity in music doesn't go away.”

Davey Jones: The…

Q&A with multitalented ace string-man Mark Newman, from the rock ‘n’ roll, to the subtle flavors of blues, folk and soul

Blues is the source for a lot of great American music. Rock, R&B and Jazz have it. I think it will outlive every trend in modern music. I got to see B.B. King, Albert King, Buddy Guy and the list goes on. There’s nothing Ike hearing the folks that influenced generations of players. Music speaks to peoples emotions and brings back memories. Sometimes there’s a visceral response. Hopefully, musicians will continue to serve that…

Q&A with Italian gifted singer and songwriter Eva Carboni, explores a wide variety of blues, rock, and jazz styles

Posted on November 10, 2025 at 10:00pm 0 Comments

“Ultimately, almost all music is imbued with the blues, even if sometimes only subtly... for me, the Blues is music. The blues can reach deep. It's warm. Without the blues, music would freeze. And music, which has always resonated in human beings, naturally plays a fundamental role. Good music makes our days better; each of us, albeit in different ways, seeks it and wants it in our lives.“…

I’m not really sure what blues means to me. I mean it’s EVERYTHING to me. Almost every major decision I’ve made from the age to 16 to the present, like careers, relationships, moving places, etc. I’ve factored how it would impact my music.”

Q&A with veteran musician Phil Manning, one of Australia's best known guitarists, true to the essence of blues and roots music

Posted on November 7, 2025 at 9:30am 0 Comments

"When you think about it, blues is at the heart of so much of modern music that its impact must be immense. I can only imagine how boring the music scene would be without that blues influence. Despite the origins of blues being based on suffering, poverty, pain or any number of human conditions, I like to think that its effect on people will be to bring them together, give them a real good time and have them feel warm and happy…
