Greece Blues Hall of Fame presents
Johnny Childs brainchild 'INTERNATIONAL BLUES MUSIC DAY' on the streets and squares in Greece, August 6, 2016.
International Blues Music Day term was first time coined by the Famous Musician Johny Child. On August 17, 2011 an online petition was launched advocating for the establishment of an International Blues Music Day.
Each year on the first Saturday of August, this internationally practiced art form is recognized for promoting peace, dialogue among cultures, diversity, and respect for human rights and human dignity, eradicating discrimination, promoting freedom of expression, fostering gender equality, and reinforcing the role of youth for social. International Blues Music Day brings together communities, schools, artists, and historians, academics, and blues enthusiasts all over the world to celebrate and learn about blues and its roots, future and impact; raise awareness of the need for intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding; and reinforce international cooperation and communication.
Let's celebrate the Blues on the roads and streets... The Blues Is Alright!
"A day for the international community to unite in celebration of the blues, including it's many icons, legends & pioneers & to help elevate & support the vast pool of modern day blues artists & practitioners around the world" (Johnny Childs - Director IBMD)
